The bleakness of the moors

I've been lax lately and neglecting this site in favour of my general diary-cum-photoblog, which has become very addictive. I need to redress the balance, so hopefully over the next few weeks I'll be able to post more of my favourite pictures here.

I've recently invested in a tiny Nikon s550, which fits neatly in a pocket and means I don't always need my big bag of gear. Although it doesn't have the capabilities of my Canon DSLR, it can still take some decent pics, as this one demonstrates.

This picture was taken from Chetham Close, a hillside between Bolton and Blackburn, looking east towards Ramsbottom (Peel Tower can just be made out on the distant hilltop).
