Footprints in the snow

With a dusting of snow in the fields yesterday I'd considered getting out this morning to take some wintery scenes in the 'golden hour' after sunrise. Unfortunately after wrapping up like the Michelin Man I stepped outside to discover the skies closing in and heavy sleet hitting my face. So a swift about turn followed!

By mid morning the sleet had turned to proper snow and soon there were a couple of inches on the ground. After the newspaper had been delivered there were just the one set of fresh footprints on the ground and suddenly I realised I could take my picture after all - with the added bonus of not leaving the house!

This shot was taken by me lying on the floor just inside at our front door, and I think this picture works because it looks as if the prints are heading towards our neighbours' house across the street. Do you agree?
